This summer did not go as expected.

I thought I was going to be working as many hours as possible at the pizza place I had been working at in order to put money toward the World Race, but God had other plans in mind.

One evening I felt like God wanted me to return again to the camp I've worked at for the past 5 summers, but it was about to start in less than a week, I messaged the camp director to see if there was anywhere they could use me this summer, not too expectant of a response. I went into a church service and they were playing this song from our times of prayer at camp. Then, during a time of prayer, I was praying if I was supposed to be at camp this summer, and right as we ended my phone lit up in my lap and it was a response from the camp director saying that it was actually a total God-send and that they were in need of a lifeguard for the summer!!! (FRIENDS, JESUS IS SO COOL)

So... I failed lifeguard training within the first 20 minutes, but I still got to be at camp for the summer!!! I just filled in different jobs each week, whenever someone was on vacation. Which was actually so awesome, because I do not thrive well under schedule and repetition, so switching it up each week and experiencing so many different aspects of camp was literally AMAZING.

This summer I grew so much in my faith and in myself, work didn't feel like work, I laughed, stayed up late, ate an amazing amount of animal crackers, lived in community for 12 weeks, it was beyond better than anything I could have imagined and I'm so glad it didn't go as expected, I can't even put into words all that made up this summer, so is a short video of a few of the things that went on...
