"let the ruins come to life, in the beauty of your name, rising up from the ashes."
our feet MARCH ON,
over rocks and hills, mountains and highways.
may these dusty RUINS RISE UP to new life.
rebuild, revive.
children crying out on cold floors
looking at the hope and beauty of you.
hands raised
we sit behind and look upon, we stand up, we sing
and declare your goodness
sway to the song
amidst the numbness and gnawing pain
give us just a little glimpse.
sick and hurting
hungry, desperate and broken.
we link arms, we walk in step.
not speaking the same language,
yet resting and looking at your glorious light together,
connected.
front porches and animal noises,
looking out LOOKING UP
sons and daughters
we are free indeed, we sing.
walk as children, reaching out along the way with your heart,
alive inside,
each pounding footstep
ECHOING LIGHT FURTHER
past gates and steps, incense and paint
hope rings
through the walls and statues
your praise resonates, reverberates
whispers of truth
sing through the heaviness
through the chanting and smoke rising
tears and screams
O GOD YOU ARE THERE
the darkness shall not overcome
even there you are moving still
even where the fight seems lost
where sons and daughters live on slopes of trash and waste
where they are starving, dying
where your dear daughters are beaten, abused and bought for mere dollars
where tears are shed, words are yelled, pain is felt, death is present
O GOD YOUR HOPE IS IN THESE PLACES
I know it is.
though it may just be a dusty blur.
I rest assured
YOU ARE
MOVING, BREATHING, REVIVING, RISING, AWAKENING, HEALING & HOLDING US
CLOSE.
