Dang Dengue

Life in India has been hard beyond belief, it has been hot, and humid, there are so many mosquitos, from which I got Dengue fever, and the past two weeks of recovery have been a blur of eating insane amounts of papaya and watching nearly 30 movies.
The first night we arrived here I just cried, I never thought that I'd be able to live here, honestly I looked at flights home and gave myself two weeks, during that time, despite the challenges sickness and uncomfortability, I found joy in the people surrounding me, in having rice for every meal, all of these things that used to seem unbearable (I made a list) are now the things that put a smile on my face.
Our team has grown closer than ever! In Swaziland and Lesotho, we honestly didn't hang out, I felt as though I didn't even know some of them. But being here something changed I now call these people who just a few months ago were strangers my sisters, my best friends, my family, we share tears and honest struggles, we laugh and sing to Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and other stupid songs SO loudly every night on our sunset drives to ministry. We stay up late watching movies, sharing Oreos and peanut butter, and this is just the beginning!
I thought I knew challenges help you grow, but through this past month I have seen the evidence of it so clearly. Dang am I thankful for my team that fights for each other, and thankful too for the things that have been hard, because of them I have seen growth.
"When troubles and challenges come at you from ALL SIDES consider it an opportunity for GREAT JOY! for when your faith is tested your endurance has a chance to GROW!!!" -James 1:2-3-
Sorry I haven't been the greatest at updating you all about life this past month, but I hope in reading this you've learned a little something. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me and been praying for me.
Much love, Jordan :)
